About EnergyLane
Founded by Austin Gboru, we're engineering the infrastructure for a food-secure, energy-resilient Atlantic future where farmers are grid assets, not land sellers.
Our Mission
EnergyLane is solving the Atlantic Challenge: the crisis of grid vulnerability, agricultural climate stress, and food insecurity that are structurally linked. Our Sovereign Array hardware and EnergyLane OS software enable farmers to become energy producers—unlocking a second, weather-resistant revenue stream while protecting crop yields and strengthening regional food security.
We're not building solar farms on farmland. We're building resilience infrastructure that simultaneously powers grids and protects agriculture. This is the only path to regional food sovereignty and true energy independence in Atlantic Canada.
The Atlantic Challenge
THE GRID CRISIS
Aging, centralized grids are vulnerable to climate events and rising costs. Rural transmission losses make distributed generation essential.
THE AGRICULTURAL CRISIS
High thermal stress and unpredictable weather threaten potato and high-value produce yields. Tuber heat-rot is becoming a critical constraint.
THE HEALTH LINK
Rising energy costs drive up food prices, creating a direct barrier to nutritional health and provincial food sovereignty.
Founded by Austin Gboru
Austin Gboru is an international infrastructure developer with 15+ years of experience in grid modernization and renewable energy integration. Recognizing that Atlantic Canada faces a structural collision between its 2040 Net-Zero mandates and the preservation of its agricultural heartland, Austin founded EnergyLane to pioneer a third path: dual-use agrivoltaic infrastructure that solves both crises simultaneously.
Currently a candidate in the UPEI Master of Cleantech Leadership & Transformation program, Austin is collaborating with provincial agricultural bodies, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), and grid operators to position EnergyLane as the cornerstone of Atlantic Canada's energy transition—one that protects rather than sacrifices the family farm.

We don't build generic solar installations. Every EnergyLane array is engineered for the North Atlantic:
- →Hurricane-rated mechanics that shed snow and withstand 150+ mph winds
- →Crop-synchronized timing that adapts shading to growth cycles
- →Soil protection reducing thermal stress by up to 5°C during peak heat
- →Virtual Power Plant integration enabling grid stability through real-time coordination
